Link is the great hero of the „The Legend of Zelda“-series and wielder of the Triforce of Courage, the force of Farore. His first appearance was in the game The Legend of Zelda, released in 1986 in Japan and 1987 in the rest of the world. The developers of the series still are Shigeru Miyamoto and his Nintendo-Team.

Originally Link was a young adventurer on journey. He met Impa in distress, helped her and got involved in the history of Hyrule. But already in the second game the story, based on a parallel-dimension-theory, changed, as well as his looks. He is the only person who plays the male protagonist in every game.

In Twilight Princess Link lives as a farmer in the small village Ordon, outside the boarders of Hyrule, as only Hylian among Humans(note that at the time of the story line, Humans are so widely spread that even Hylians are called "Humans" already <.<).

The castle of Hyrule asks the village's blacksmith Rusl to create a sword for them. The latter tells Link off as for delivering it in his place, as he doesn't believe himself being worthy of representing the village good enough. But the village is being attacked and his best friends; among all other children; the mayor's daughter Ilia, who is in Link's age, and Rusl's little son Colin are being kidnapped. Link takes up the chase but gets stopped by a black wall. The Twilight Realm has laid itself over Hyrule...
